Just connect it to telephone landline outlet or to mini-PBX extension line - and call from mobile phone to fixed landline phone and vice versa while paying for this as for mobile-to-mobile calls. Great savings are achieved if mobile phone’s and Gateway’s SIM-cards are subscribed to one "corporation" of mobile operator (special billing plan that presupposes very low charge for calls inside the Group or Corporation, "Family", "Pals" etc).

[ Providing telephone connection establishment ] ECCOM Basis is also compatible to be used as telephone line emulator: if you have no chance to connect to PSTN telephone landline - ECCOM Basis will do this for you in a wink of an eye, you will establish telephone communication for your office, show stand or country-house (cottage) everywhere where GSM network is available. Connect desk-top or cordless phone or mini-PBX to ECCOM Basis - and solve the communication problem at low expenses.

[ Computer connection ] Device’s functions may be set from mobile or desk-top phone (this is a necessary function - though not always convenient), and also from personal computer as well. ECCOM Basis is equipped with special connector to link to computer. In this case setting procedure is simple and vivid - the same as work with any office program application. You can set subscriber right to access device, set limits for roaming and international / long-distance calls, establish individual or group SMS-sending by command or schedule and many other options are available.

[ Personal Billing system ] Personal Billing system is another important and necessary function of ECCOM Basis: it will show call expenses for all system subscribers with detailed report for each paragraph. This is a special software that can be supplied with the device. Billing system registers all calls made within GSM-gate system and shows vivid reports for all subscribers’ calls, tariffing and saving rates. Billing system will help to shape your expenses when changing mobile operator plan, or to decide which operator and call plan is the best for your calls structure. Therefore, ECCOM Basis application will not only reduce calls charge but will also manage and show billing rates for your corporation / company.

[ Sensors and external devices ] Device may connect external sensors (for example, alarm system / burglar alarm). Once any sensor is activated - ECCOM Basis will automatically send SMS to a certain mobile phone number (set by you). Besides, ECCOM Basis can control external devices (household appliances, electric locks, video-observation systems, climate control etc). For example, you can simply call GSM-gate to switch ON conditioning system 20 minutes before you come home.

[ Embedded answering machine ] When you are out of network and can’t receive the call - embedded answering machine will record all incoming messages and send you notification about new messages. Also you can listen to all recorded messages from your mobile phone as soon as you are within network coverage.

[ Data transfer ] ECCOM Basis is also possible to be used as a modem. Device can transfer data at speed up to 9,6 Kb/sec, in GPRS mode - up to 26,8 Kb/sec. You can send/receive faxes via ECCOM Basis connected to PC using specialized software (e.g. Symantec WinFax).

[ Call-back ] In call-back mode GSM-gateway receives the call from "registered" subscriber and bounds it back, then it calls back to this number. This mode saves money and optimizes communication expenses.

[ High communication quality ] ECCOM Basis has GSM-module embedded - in contrast to many other similar devices in the present market that use external mobile phone. Embedded solution has not only improved outlook but is also better and more reliable in operation (usually external mobile phone’s battery is loading during the whole work period that usually results in premature wearing). Also updated system is not influenced by the problem of electromagnetic incompatibility: there are less hindrances and noise. The system of "echo-cancellation" also adds to better communication quality: it eliminates unpleasant "echo" that is usually common for GSM-networks.
